So its that time of the year., when you finally are graduating. It means a lot to you and one sure way to celebrate the occasion is to choose a grad dress well. Go in for colours in blue tones like navy or royal blue. Classic black tones look good in polycot, or flowing cottons.

Long grad dresses come above the ankles, and in case it is altered let it not show. If you want to look different you may get a tailored dress in black and white checks. Whatever the style be, let it speak up for your personality. As you enter the store make sure you carry your shoes along inorder to choose the right length.

Collars come in various hues like golden, white, orange or red. Choose one as you need to co ordinate with the main garment. Dresses for graduation are special and found well in the markets.

Do not compromise on the cut, don’t go for a garb and check the length. Keep the fabric easy to handle. Avoid silks as they get wrinkled soon. Pre-think on the clothes you want to wear inside and make sure it does not peep out.

Coming to graduation dresses that are akin to prom wear make them real special. Go for feminine necklines, decent wears in V necks, strappy spaghetti tops. Make sure they fit right and practice walking with grace. Frumpy awkward styles will mar the event and morale too. Include a stylist for that perfect hair and if trying make up for the first time, consult an expert and take your mom’s advice.

Tailoring is an art and do not try to imitate cutting or altering a grad dress. If you don’t feel right at the trial session simply do not purchase it. Any formal affair needs a complete style and choose the right cut. Formal grad dresses are found with many stores and do not make it a rush-rush affair. Do try out fabrics in military green, beige and brown to replace the traditional whites. Get a little colour on your cheeks but do not be a glam girl for a formal affair. Check on the satins in stoles and collars. Caps come in styles too. Get on your thinking cap and choose a great dress!
