Outfits and designs that can be worn as part of graduation ensemble or the graduation attire can be many in number, and as diverse the personalities of the students graduating, so can the attire and the ensemble of the students graduating, but the important thing to keep in mind is that graduation is an important time in any student’s life and also, since it is graduation and the occasion is formal, yet with the image of a studious approach in mind, there needs to be the fact that the attire should be nice and subtle, as well as leaning towards formal or semi formal is maybe acceptable, but by and large, the concept of a graduation attire needs to be one that is formal and not loud in nature.

– For a good graduation attire, one can consider options of stitching a nice outfit from a good tailor or a tailoring studio, as well as there are options such as buying dresses for graduation (in case of the female category or the girls that are graduating) and the suits or blazers with trousers or a full suit (for the male category or the boys who are graduating).

- There are stores like Mango which understand the sentiment s of the girls who are graduating from college and the dresses that are available in the stores or brands like Mango, guess, Zara and more are delicate and are well suited for occasions like graduation, and the choices are comfortable and diverse.

- Dresses that are long are well suited for or as a graduation attire or ensemble. The clothes that are in dress forms compliments and suit every girl and so there is no surprise that dresses would well suit girls while they are graduating or rather, in other words, dresses are a apt form of dressing or an ideal outfit for graduation and as graduation ensembles.

- Trousers and blazers in colours such as tweed, blacks and dark blues or more, are wonderful options for dressing or ensemble for boys who are graduating.

- Skirts that are below knee length are great to wear as an alternative option instead of dresses, for graduation or the purpose of the same. Skirts in plaid and in colours that are not too loud, but yet, colours that can be in shades and variations of whites, blacks, blues and more are all options for the same

What colours go well on graduation? Do students need to concentrate on make-up or go with the subtle, fresh, natural look on graduation day?

Graduation day would require a student to be conservative in dressing and definitely conservative in their make up and look.

The best thing is to look natural-but it takes make-up to look natural

This infamous quote is by the master dresser- Calvin Klein, a master in the fashion world and a true connoisseur of the arts. Surely, he was referring to the adult bracket of ladies!

But for the very young or the teenage age segments, make up is not needed whatsoever. Skin, at that age is so fresh that make up , however natural looking the outcome is, will spoil the look most often than not, unless it is a hint of some light lip colour and a small dab of cheek stained blush or rouge that add to the glow of the skin for the graduation youngster!

Students must not concentrate on make up for graduation, instead if they feel strongly about putting on some make-up, they should adhere to the above tips and preferable, go without any make up. Just a scrubbed, clean look with the use of a good apricot scrub to the face or a suitable face wash and maybe a light sunscreen to prevent uva-uvb rays to skin! A good, fresh, subtle, natural and clean look with a graduation confidence is an unbeatable combination!

Clean, fresh looks are what adults aim at getting by applying make up and some resort to doing skin procedures like botox, laser, peels and more to achieve that young-un-wrinkled and fresh skin types that youngsters (teenagers and around those ages) have.

When so much money is being spent on establishing and achieving younger looking skin types, why should the young graduate girl not bank on this and go with no trace of make-up, with a superb minimalistic, natural look!

Teenagers and youngsters get inspired to grow up way too fast, this includes in-your-face make up that is done with no order to it, this makes the look of a teenager awkward and fake, defeating the purpose of being a young teenager. So all you youngsters reading this out there, follow subtle and fresh looks this season, especially those who are graduating anytime soon!

What is a perfect graduation attire?

Graduation is such an important time and day to every graduation student. It’s the time that a girl or boy grows up into being a young adult by taking with him or her memoires and education that is profoundly important, by receiving a degree of graduation by their respective institute. A proud day! A special day! It’s a lot of thought and effort that gets put into the decision of a perfect graduation attire. Many institutes have the flexibility in dress codes (the only pre-requisite is a graduation hat), but many have the compulsory dress-code of wearing the gown that graduates do (looks like a lawyer or a tapering coat).

A perfect graduation outfit is one that is in uniformity with other students, with a hint of conservative and shows the maturity of a young adult. A dress is the most thought of option, with the graduation hat, that gets tilted to a side when graduation happens! The boys wear blazers which are formal and conservative, giving the impression of responsible gentleman of the world, with the hat, of course!

No glosses or any showy make-up, if totally keen, then wearing a matte coloured, light lip shade with a slight dab of rose blush tot eh cheeks is acceptable on graduation day, as part of the graduation attire. Mary-Jane’s are popular to wear for graduation, stylish yet school-girlish look to it!

Dresses, hair blow-dried or left open, even tied up with a rubber-band is a clean look for a graduating girl. Boys should gel their hair or comb their hair behind to give a boyish-sporty young look.

The following picture is unique and special because of the fact that graduation concepts have been similar and age-old, the picture was of graduating students in the year 1913 at Barnard College

This following picture is also one that may have been taken in the yester years

Anyway, Nevertheless, the idea is to dress well for graduation, because after all, you graduate once in that field of study that is chosen and it is important to be clear and conceivable in your attire and presentation on graduation day! To go prepared and looking the best that you can, with the nest confidence that you can portray, the best smile and the best foot forward!

The entire look is essential to make your presence felt. Moreover, one should dress to feel confident and happy from within. Once the decision on the gown is made, you need to decide further on the hairstyle and make up essentials.

What actually is needed, is a clutter free look. If this is your 8th graduation then one needs to maintain the innocence in the look. There are temptations to look lady-like but maintain a little originality. Loud make is a complet no-no, one can manipulate the cheeks and jaw line with blushers. Hide the dark circles, if any, with good quality concealers. Avoid the caking up of make up. Use a good moisturizer and base before using the grease paint. Light make up will add much charm to your face. If it’s a blue dress in chiffon, then go for very light pinks or nude colours on the lips. Highlight your eyes again going by the colour of your eyes and the dress.

Its important to understand the make up for day parties and night functions differ. Day looks are sober and night parties add get bolder with make up. If this is a proper formal convocation, then we need to understand that a touch of blusher and a little lipstick with a little eye shadow is all you need. Your smile and confidence is better than all make up!

This is one time when you want to try all the feminine hairstyles. Pre wash your hair, do not try any hair remedies or gels, shampoos or colour one week prior to your graduation. Hair problems with new concepts can lead to frizzy bad hair days, or severe hair fall.

Tint your hair with browns in forest, mahogany or blonde looks. Streaks come in temporary colours too. Engage a stylist or be careful and go for trial applications weeks in advance. The idea is to add glow to the face and hence do not try something new. Black hair if ironed poker straight is magical. Leave it flowing and win admiration.

Crimp your hair on one side, allowing with a side parting. It is important to add volume to your hair incase you have fine hair. Messy hair can be manipulated with pincers and casual clips. Make sure you fit the personality accordingly. Bob and real short haired people can go for a fly-away look, soft waves and well set with blow drying. Medium lengths allow lot of experiments in colouring and braiding too. Wearing hair up is the best idea with top knots, high buns. Keep it classy and not Victorian. It is necessary to have a manageable look for you to enjoy the event.

It is easier to organise a graduation party with gifts souvenirs, photographs on mugs, mementos, autographs and T shirts. But what to wear is a million dollar question. Answers can be found with better planning. If it is a grade 8 graduation dresses i.e. party wear then it needs to be a real good one. With 10 years of schooling, you are on your threshold to high school. Make this a memorable party with a perfect dress.

Party wears are available in various fabrics be it synthetics, chiffon, silks and satin. A general advise is be comfortable in what you wear. As this is not ultra formal session, choose something easy to move in. Go for off shoulders, wide necks, halter gowns and strappy dresses. Many makes come in detachable forms

Maintain the decency and do not try out something outrageous. Colours can be any as per the season. Let the colour work for you and you can work on the rest like make up and hairstyles.

Give your time and thought to dependable inner wears. Carry your inners along with you and also your shoes during trial sessions. Parade well during the trial session if you intend to pick from your regular mall. Alterations if any, need be done with the supplier and do not try tacky arrangements. It is one day of your life time and do it in style.

Jewelry is a passion for any girl. Invest in some or better still, loan it from your mother. Keep it to minimum or you will end up looking like a Christmas tree. Arrange for spare wears like swim suit, pajama suits as per the venue or if the party leads to a change of scene.

If you engage a designer, then talk a lot about your apprehensions and choice of colour. They are experts and will guide you in highlighting your personality. Shoes are important collections and choose the right one.

Colours for evening wear include red, black, ivory, leaf green, pinks and browns too. Day parties can be colours in lilac, sky blue, and other fruity or flowery colours and prints. Try something new, with necklines, altering layers of fabric, different hemlines. Go on for big bows, high waistlines, stoles and scarves too. If you have the style go for a short tube dress. Definite interest are developed in matching purses, handbags and watches too.

Little graduates in formal attires. A proud time for parents too. Kids dresses demand your time at shopping. Children’s relate to vibrancy and colour of life. Primarily red is a favourite colour with kids and many graduation dresses for juniors are flowing reds.

Caps come in coordinated colours too. Tassles are loved by kids and come in colours like golden, beige, blue, red and black hangings. Pinafore for girls is a great idea and can be coordinated with a fitting cap with tassle hangings.

Short frocks and full pants and short sleeved shirts for boys is a regular idea. Casual frocks in pink, shoes, stocking and frilly underpants team well for a cute look. Boys wear can be navy blue or light orange, printed, checks or plain. Pant length can be short or full types.

Details like pockets are essential for kids to keep their hankies. Zippers should be strong and good quality. Press buttons are better options The garment should be breathe easy and skin friendly. Accessories like medals can be pre booked if you know your grade, stoles come with ‘honour’ printed on it. Cords usually denote a special grade conferred and colours are bright in purple, yellow, green and autumn orange. Diploma comes in parchment paper.

An entire set complete with photo frames, padded diploma covers, key chain tassles, socks and shoes can be co ordinated with plain or printed fabrics as the gown or graduation dress. Designers supply the same in stores or you could engage a tailor for the same. Most schools set a theme for graduation events and the dress is often suggested and ordered in bulk.

It is essential to see that your little child is able to handle the garment, walk freely and also proper choice of material to avoid allergies is to be taken into consideration. Its an innovative idea to feel good dressing your child in special clothes, but also take care to explain to the child about the event and organize trial parades at home.

The fit and size needs to be just right. Sloppy fittings and bad buttons will make the child uncomfortable and conscious. Award your child with the best motivation, photograph him and let him fall in love with his schooling.

The elegance and beauty of magic whites needs no description. White comes in various tints of light pinks, freckled gold or silver dots, tinge of yellow to shadings in grey.

Graduation dresses for juniors too comes in a range of whites and other combinations in white. An orange and white checks would look wonderful on a pre schooler and juniors can also choose a spunky tomato red and white plaid wear. Caps can have the same fabric print.

The evening wear in graduation dresses in white give a regal look. If its teenage graduation dress, white can speak volumes. Pristine whites can look feminine with layers of alternating asymmetrical hemlines for a graduation prom night.

Plain white gowns which are body fit in empire lines can have the bodice embroided in light gold or silver weaves. The beauty of a white dress stands out with minimalisation of accessories. Keep the wears simple to little diamonds or silver drops.

Avoid two pieces as this go more as an exclusive evening gown, graduation wears should retain a novel charm. Go for spaghetti and halter necks. Avoid embellishments. Lace work is fine but a little of it.

A straight fit full length gown, with a flowing pure silk stole( in red/royal blue) casual at the neck makes a perfect model. Make sure the dress is well fitting and allows easy walking. Evening prom functions have ball dances and its essential you try a few steps with the dress and shoes on.

White with tinge of yellow or coffee tones brings maturity to the outfit. Grace is personified in beige borders on a white gown, net linings on bare arms is also an interesting design. White elbow length gloves gives an elegant look.

White over white is a novel way of designing. The idea is to create two different shades in white, may be an overcoat and main gown, or a short mini dress with a long wrap stole. The contrast of whites gives more variations to the pattern.

Be it cowled necks, elbow length sleeves, puffs or formal graduation dresses the ethereal beauty of white is always retained.

Flabby arms, chubby cheeks and thick calves. Is that you? Welcome to a fashion world exclusive for you. End all the frustration and resolve to be a designer yourself. Get the size right, that is all that matters. Persona is ultimate necessity and size is just a number again. Waif like figures go through the same phenomena and cheer up to a new fashion just for yourself.

Firstly understand your body, if you bloat on your tummy regularly, then keep a few inches away. Go for confident and firm inner wear, this is the first step towards style. Go for darker tones in navy, royal and team with Honour collars in magenta or rust gold. Get a blonde or mahogany colour if you have ebony dark hair. Streaks or tints add more confidence. If you don’t like colours then crimp your hair on one side or get bangs done. The idea is to cut flab on your cheeks and get into a lean look on the face. Make up tricks are amazing, learn it from your mom or employ an artist for the first time. Understand tricks on blushers, eye make up to project a firm chin, hide the double chin and get the twinkle in your eyes.

Teen graduation dresses offer more variety. This is a niche clientele and wants the very best. Plus size or tiny, this is about shopping for a complete event. Choose among full sleeves or shrugs, avoid sleeveless. Overcoats help your cover your hip size and so does a stole. Heavy material for party wear tends to give you a fuller look and hence avoid the same. Choose contrast fabrics in lace for a stole and go for calf length makes. Darker colour in sizes begin from 12 and go up to 32.

Choose vertical prints and animal prints with right cut look good too. Get a firmer bodice, cowled necks, wider necklines, gathers and little bows around the waist to distract the flab around your tummy. Study yourself, highlight your physical strengths and be sure to hide the awkwardness and shyness.

Size is only a number and let it not stop you from exploring. Please understand the importance of an entire look, foot wear, agile movements and right make up.

Gather up with your team mates and win appreciation from all your friends.

Go for the right fit in grad dresses be it a 8th grade graduation dresses or other dresses for graduation. A team could also decided on a homogenous style and all can dress accordingly. Visit your nearest store for latest design and other coordinated concepts.

Sizes start from pre-school wears to extra large specials. It is natures gift that forms your shape, apart from working for a trim figure, its best to accept natures endowments. Firstly don’t compromise on any ill-fit whether loose or tight. Make time for yourself, leaving other chores scheduled, when you go for a grad dress purchase. As this is not a regular wear, or first-timers make sure you do not settle on any tacky compromises.

Colours are plenty in navy blue, pitch black. Traditional grad dresses are usual black and alternated with collar sizes. Take your height and body in your stride if you are a plus size. Get confident with correct size, tailor it if you wish, arrange a personal advisor, use fabrics that do not add volume. Tailor grace and style, just a little imagination and surely practice in front of the mirror.

As you have strived all along the year to attain the degree, graduation dresses are a souvenir. Hired garments are also available in all sizes.

If you are thin then its much easy. Use shoulder pads, foam wear inside, wear something heavy inside, but don’t end up looking artificial and bulky. Hour glass figures tend to go for ready purchases.

Whatever the size is, accentuate more on the colour of stoles, collar, caps. Get a hair stylist to crimp or perm your hair. Grow your hair a little longer in advance, so as to style and cut just a week before the D day. Size surely does not matter, it’s the confident image and the personality you display at the convocation is what sets you going!
